Open House
A Child Becomes will be hosting an Open House for all families on Sunday, January 22 at the school. Drop by between 2 – 4 PM, meet our teachers, and tour the school. Registration information for the Fall of 2012-13 school year will be available. Hope to see you there!
Registration Timing
Early Registration
Early registration for the Fall 2012 school year is available to returning families and alumni of A Child Becomes and runs Monday, January 30 – Friday, February 3, 2012. Applicants will be enrolled in classes according to eligibility guidelines (see chart below) and class preference, if applicable. Notice of acceptance and class enrollment including a tuition contract, will be mailed out or sent home with your child in the two weeks following the close of Early Registration.
Open Registration
Open registration begins Monday, February 27th, 2012. Open class slots will be filled on a first come first served basis. We will not take applications over the phone. Notice of acceptance and class enrollment including a tuition contract, will be mailed out to families within two weeks of receipt of your Registration Application and fee. Registration remains open until all class slots are full. Applications received after that point, are added to the wait list in pending status.
Criteria for Admission
Each class band, Caterpillars (ages 2/3), Butterflies (ages 3/4) and Sunbeams (ages 4/5) will follow the age/date of birth requirements outlined below. Children are developing and learning so quickly in these preschool years! Grouping children of like ages allows our teachers to develop and focus the curriculum in way that best compliments the child’s stage of development and prepare them for the next year of learning.

Class Assignment Process
Children are enrolled into classes based on the Class Eligibility Guidelines and/or class selection. In the case that there are more applicants then class slots, early registration applicants will be randomly selected for assignment into their preferred or eligible class, and a waiting list will be formed. Caterpillar and Butterfly class applicants who do not receive their preferred class will be placed in any remaining open classes for their class band and also placed on a waiting list for their preferred class.
Wait List
As classes fill, a waitlist for each class will be generated for pending applications. The waitlist will be maintained until one month after the first day of school. Application fees will not be deposited until your application is accepted and your child is enrolled. Please keep in mind that class lists can change dramatically between February and the start of school in September. Please do not be discouraged if you are placed on a waitlist. You will be notified if and when a slot opens.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition is an annual fee that covers the school year from September through June. It can be paid in advance at a 3% discount or split up into 10 payments over the course of the school year. Monthly payments are due on or before the 1st of each month including the first month of school in September. A tuition contract with payment requirements will be sent to you via mail after your child is enrolled.
Tuition varies by class band and we offer three distinct bands of instruction, Caterpillars, Butterflies and Sunbeams plus two enrichment classes (1) for the Butterfly and (2) for Sunbeam students. Tuition does not include fees for school supplies and field trips. A school supply list will be sent out via email in the summer leading up to the first day of school, please ensure we have an accurate email address for you.

Field Trip Fees
There are between 8-10 field trips over the course of the year for the Butterfly and Sunbeam classes. There are no field trips for the Caterpillar classes. Field trip costs will be paid in advance of the school year rather than as each trip happens during the school year. A one time, non-refundable fee of $80 will be due on or before September 1st. These fees do not include costs for parents who may choose to accompany their child.
