Summer Camps at A Child Becomes

A Child Becomes offers 8 weeks of summer camps beginning June 22nd for two age groups; Preschool ages 3-4, and Early Elementary ages 5-7. New this year is an additional day, Mondays! Camps are Monday – Thursday from 9am-1pm at our new location just one block off Alki beach!

Our Approach

Our mission here at A Child Becomes Preschool is to nurture each child’s individuality, innate curiosities, and instill a desire for lifelong learning as we prepare preschoolers for kindergarten and the world beyond. We offer a warm and nurturing learning environment that engages students in activities that promote social and emotional, language and cognitive skill development. Through play, music, art and literacy we encourage self-expression, cooperation, inquiry, conflict resolution and reflection.

Our Staff

We pride ourselves on providing certified teachers with strong backgrounds in early childhood education. Equally as important is a teacher with compassion, sensitivity and one who is able to instill curiosity and wonder in your children. Our teachers, assistants and staff are here because they love children. We'd like you to meet them all!

Service Projects

Martin Luther King Jr. challenged people to step up and help others and question what they can do to make the world a better place. It's not too early to talk about these concepts with preschoolers and we've discovered that children at A Child Becomes have big hearts! We have found organizations both near and far that need help, and we have developed some simple projects that allow the children and their families to give back.
